MUTEC - the International Trade Fair for Museum and Exhibition Technology

The core topics of MUTEC 2012 are: Museum Architecture, Building, Security, Environmental and Climate Technology, Fittings and Scenography, Visitor Service, Guidance Services, Ticketing, Audio, Lighting, Multimedia, Interactive Systems, Museum Education, Storage and Archiving, Data Management as well as Facilities for Scientific Institutions.

An extensive programme of presentations, panel discussions and workshops accompanies the trade fair and underlines MUTEC’s position as an indispensable meeting place and information pool for the whole museum sector.

The combination of MUTEC and denkmal was already highly rated by exhibitors as well as visitors at the last MUTEC in 2010.
To create further synergies, library technology will be included as a special segment in the next MUTEC. A special infrastructure is required to organize knowledge and make it available. A number of products, developments and services for this area have already been covered by the field of exhibitors; more can be added to by new exhibitors.

Thus, in cooperation with denkmal, a culturally and interdisciplinary wide offer will be created, which encompasses the whole area of museums, monuments, archives, libraries, knowledge centers and cultural institutions.

Exhibitors of denkmal and MUTEC benefit from the international focus as well as from the vicinity to the neighbours in the East with a high potential for the usage of modern museum and exhibition technologies. This year’s partner country of denkmal is Russia and both denkmal and MUTEC are under the patronage of UNESCO.
