A history of the world in 100 objects

The British Museum have launched a project called “A history of the world in 100 objects” which is an attempt to challenge older ways of seeing world history as a “clash of civilizations”. How is Africa represented in this history? You can add your own African objects to the list which includes a “Boer War biscuit”. The BM does touch to some extent on issues of repatriation in its media around the exhibition. Have they done enough?
Simon Jenkins of the Guardian comments that in the UK, relic worship is becoming the first cult of the 21st century.
