Brandeis University: Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Israel Studies 2012-2013

The Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University invites applications for the position of post-doctoral fellow during the academic year of 2012-2013.
The successful candidate will teach one course per semester in Israel Studies, related to programmes in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies, Israeli arts and culture, politics, sociology, economics, or other relevant disciplines. PhD must be in hand by 1 September, 2012, with no exceptions, and may not have been received before 2007.
The fellow will be expected to be in residence at Brandeis, to participate actively in the intellectual life of the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies, and to present at least one public lecture. There may be also an opportunity for participation in the Brandeis University Summer Institute for Israel Studies. The annual stipend will be $50,000 and is benefits-eligible. The fellowship may be renewable for a second year.

Candidates should upload a cover letter, CV, project proposal, abstract of their PhD and a list and description of proposed courses. Priority will be given to applications received by 15 January, 2012.
