International Institute for the Inclusive Museum
In the next year, the International Institute for the Inclusive Museum (IIIM)will bring together ten to fifteen clusters of research and capacity building institutions, museums and heritage bodies across the world.
With hubs in Chicago, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Paris and Sydney, this platform will enhance constructive engagement with the following knowledge communities and establish a state of the art online research, learning and teaching system. It will also bring together several knowledge communities that are currently accessible under different urls or at least provide an easy gateway to access them: Cross Cultural Task Force, International Council of Museums, Paris; Pacific Asia Observatory for Cultural Diversity in Human Development (UNESCO Project & several others.
The IIIM is headed by Professor Amareswar Galla is Chairperson, Cross Cultural Task Force, International Council of Museums, Paris.
An alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Amar was Professor & Director of Sustainable Heritage Development Programs, Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies, the ANU, Canberra and Professor of Museum Studies, the UQ, Brisbane. He worked at the National Museum of Ethnology, Leiden, on Museums and Cultural Diversity Promotion.He is a Guest Curator of International Projects with the Vietnam National Department of Cultural Heritage; and Director of the Pacific Asia Observatory for Cultural Diversity in Human Development (UNESCO Project). A Trustee of the Pacific Islands Museums Association, he is the Editor-in-Chief of three academic journals: International Journal of the Inclusive Museum Chicago/Melbourne; International Journal on Intangible Heritage Seoul/Paris; International Journal on Environmental, Cultural, Economic and Social Sustainability Chicago/Melbourne.
