National Heritage Council Calls for comments on policy position papers

CALL FOR COMMENTS ON NATIONAL HERITAGE COUNCIL’S POSITION PAPERS ON IDENTIFIED AREAS OF HERITAGE

The National Heritage Council (NHC), which is a Schedule 3A public entity, is mandated in terms of the National Heritage Council Act, 1999 (Act No. 11 of 1999) to, amongst others, advise the Minister of Arts and Culture regarding heritage policies. In fulfilling this mandate, the NHC has developed four draft position papers dealing with the following significant themes on heritage:

Policy position paper on the Repatriation of Heritage Resources Policy position paper on Mainstreaming Heritage in Development Policy position paper on Ethics and Professional Standards Policy position paper on Access to Heritage Resources.

We would appreciate receiving comments and inputs from all interested and affected parties on these position papers with a view to refine and develop them further. The closing date set for submissions is 25 March 2011.
