In September, Interarts and Music Crossroads launched a study on the state of the cultural and creative sector in seventeen countries of West Africa. The project, which is supported by the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development, aims firstly to identify the countries which could be potential beneficiaries of future projects of development through culture and, on the other hand, to create a network of stable contacts among cultural agents in the region, for future cooperation among them. The initiative emerges from the positive experience of the project which Interarts currently implements in Senegal, in collaboration with the Multilateral Association and the Association des Métiers de la Musique du Senegal, in the context of the FOMECC initiative for the Promotion of Creative and Cultural Industries.
